The Great Extended Halloween

Halloween is one of our favorite times of the year. Why not when you get to dress up and eat wonderful sweet things? So we "got this party started" early…

It took Elias some time to decide what he wanted to be this year, but he finally decided on a white polar bear (much inspired by a set of new jambes from Oma). We first headed to our local Children's Museum to check out the new Playscape.

And of course trick-or-treating (which happened on November 1st this year due to a severely wet and windy All Hallow's Eve)…

Meanwhile Mama and Daddy crashed on the couch for a little Phish Couch Tour….a nice way to end this holiday.

Happy Halloween from the Barrel! We have been busy with parties, pumpkin carving, candy and of course Trick-o-Treating. Elias chose to be Batman/Super Elias this year.

Then we shared with our Mexican friends the tradition of pumpkin carving. Mama made pumpkin chocolate chip cookies and popcorn while the kids decorated their parental-carved pumpkins.

Of course you cannot forget trick-or-treating.....

 So we asked Elias what his favorite thing about Halloween was and he promptly proclaimed, "Candy!!!!" And his favorite candy? Suckers.

Super Baby is staying nice and warm in Mama's belly and so could not represent as Robin, the boy wonder. Looks like we will get to meet him sometime in November.

Trick or Treat!

It's All Hallows Eve here in the barrel and we stepped out to sample the local sugar confections....

Elias discovered the joys of many different styles refined sugars present themselves in. Favorites of the eve: Tootsie Roll Pops, Sour Twizzlers, and Fun Dip. Consuming these items was followed by large bounds of energy. Halloween was certainly a well-enjoyed evening.
