Our Little Monkeys Are Not So Little Anymore

These little monkeys are really growing up fast….

Eating Daddy's dinner like a big kid
Elias painted a picture, unprompted of the White House, with President Obama on the right and he on the left. Future world leader? Perhaps….

Emmett getting in touch with his feminine side….

Emmett got moved up from the baby from at school this week to the toddler room. That means he gets to sleep on a cot. There for we decided to make big changes al around. His crib officially went to another baby this weekend, so he got a little bedroom makeover. We decided with a Montessori-style toddler room, that promotes independence and activity in his room (as opposed to always wanting to go in his brother's room of endless little LEGOs.) Perhaps once his molars come in he will actually sleep through the night in it. Sleeping is a whole other story….

Oh the snow! Mama's Snowy birthday

They have called it many things around here: Snowpocalypse, Snowmageddon, Blizzard of 14'. Well we spent yesterday confined to our house as about 10-12 inches fell upon Indianapolis. Whats a bunch of monkeys to do when there is a snow globe outside their barrel? Get in it of course!

Which turned into a snowball fight

We did manage to celebrate Mama turning 35 with a trip to see one of her favorite artists and a little cake and ice-cream.

A Snowy Start to the year....

2014 so far has brought us very cold temperatures and snow. Oh, the snow! 6 inches down and 6-12" expected this weekend with record-setting freezing temperatures. Even though we only got a high of 15* F today, we headed to The Grand Park where Monkey K lives to check out his sledding hills. Elias loved sledding and Emmett was less enthusiastic about the cold. But with plenty of layers and factor on board, a nice time was had.

Ringing in the New Year!

So here we are at the end of 2013. It has been a wonderful year filled with many adventures. It has been a Blessing to watch our monkeys grow, learn, and just be silly. We are thankful for all the opportunities we have had with family and friends. So to celebrate, why not have a Lego-build-a-thon during couch tour for Phish?

Happy New Year!

A Very Cali-Christmas

For Christmas this year, we escaped the cold days and nights of Indiana and headed to much fairer weather in California to visit Opa, Oma, and Uncle T.

The little monkeys got their first golf lesson on Opa's new putting green...

Christmas morning was filled with lots of toys from Santa!

Someone was "Nice" this year!

We got to spend lots of time with Uncle T, Miss Morgan, and of course the newest Stowers family member, Bonnie the dog!

Elias got to play Nintendo for the first time.

Uncle T popped the question and Miss Morgan said "Yes!!!!"
No holiday is complete without a little hemophiliac monkey wrench. Right before leaving, Emmett developed a bleed right over his port. This meant that Mama could not access it for over a week and we had to venture into LA to the hemophilia treatment center for factor.

Uncle T got to mix and push the factor. Then we treated Emmett to a California delicacy…..In-N-Out Burger.

I think he likes it.
To round out our hemo-status, Uncle T took us to visit the Advate Factor Factory at Baxter where he works. It was so cool to see how the magical juice is made to keep our boys healthy.

What California Christmas is not complete without making sand angels?

Or pretending to be Spiderman?

Lastly, us artisans ventured into Hollywood to catch a viewing of the Lion King musical at the fabulous Pantages Theatre!

 Merry Christmas everyone!
