Celebrating the Holidays

We rounded out 2016 by celebrating Christmastime.  The boys helped to decorate the tree.

We snuck away for a quick trip to Chicago to visit the German Consulate and had lunch in honor of the World Champions, the Chicago Cubs.

Elias' reading has strengthened by leaps and bounds and he is now able to read at bedtime.

Santa visited our Annual Hemophilia Holiday Party. Each monkey got a special little gift and was able to tell the Big Guy what they wanted for Christmas.

St. Nikolaus also came and brought fruit, chocolate, and some new toys.

Just to make sure Santa knows what the boys want, we dropped him a few lines at the magical mailbox which goes directly to the North Pole.

Just a bunch of monkeys....

Indiana celebrated its 200th anniversary of statehood. Aravis dressed for the occasion.

Christmastime of course means all the cooking making!

And silly holiday fun!

But also a time of reflection.

And joy.

Christmas morning the monkeys discovered how good they have been this year!

And pronounced this to be the best Christmas ever.

New Years we ate sushi, visited friends, and then watched the Phish webcast to ring on the new year.

2016 was pretty wonderful for our family. We had so much fun and the addition of our newest monkey. We are looking forward to all the love and adventures that await us in 2017.

Merriest of Christmas and Happiest of New Years!
