A little springy silliness....

Oh the shenanigans when having a barrel full of monkeys!  Even though we have been plagued by sickness (long nights, floods of snotty noses, coughs and of course snuggles) we managed to have a little fun around here.
Emmett LOVES being tickled by his brother!

Elias got to ride a horse at the Circus

Bath-time is always silly around here, and lately involves yoga and dinos.

There is a new frozen yogurt shop near our house. Needless to say, we have been 3 times since it opened last week. We have a weakness for soft serve.

And so do our friends....

April was the Month of the Young Child. We celebrated at school with themed days and Family Fun night. We wore our purple and celebrated being young...

A Little Spring in Our Step

Spring has returned. The Earth is like a child that knows poems.
                                             ~Rainer Maria Rilke

We welcomed Spring with a lovely Easter celebration. It was the first nice day of the year. The sun shined and so did the spirits of all.

The Annual Church Egg Hunt

We celebrated Daddy's birthday with some cake Mama made.

Elias got to blow out the candles. The cake was a bit of a failure on Mama's part. Tasted good, but didn't come together like it should. Oh well, it was the thought that counts right? (Never mind she wasted 5 hours of her life trying to perfect a bienenstich cake.)

Phuture Phishheads

This weekend we headed down south to the border town of Louisville. There, one of Mama's old grad school friend lives, which we spent time visiting. Then we spent Saturday morning at Lego Fest. This was a really fun event for the whole family! Everyone got in on the action!!!

Saw an Indy friend there!

A Big Pile of Legos!

Elias got buried too but we were not that fast with our camera.

Making monster transformers

Who's that ninja? Oh, just Daddy...

Elias' new favorite Lego characters are from the land of Chima.

On your mark, get set, go!

Big milestone during this weekend trip = sitting up!!!!

Even Emmett got to sit in a Big Pile of Duplos

Back home in Indy, if we were not playing with our new Lego stash, we broke in our new bike trailer/stroller/jogger. It's great!

Let's ride!!!

Little Monkey Turns Five Months

Our little monkey is getting to be SOOO BIG! He loves to smile. He cracks up at his big brother's shennanigans. He loves to be tickled under his arm pits. Emmett is just an all-around happy fella. This month he has figured out how to sit up (which he loves doing!) and play with his toys.  He can play in the exersaucer manipulating things for hours. Yes, hours. Engineer perhaps? He loves to eat! He is teething so everything is making its way to his mouth. We have tried a little cereal (which he ate like a champ but his tummy was not quite ready for it yet.)

Current Stats:
Weight: 9 lbs, 9 oz
Height: 28 in
(98-100% for both)

Such a bruiser. Yet another bleed. We treated with ice and prayer. No factor yet.

Silly O'Shenanigans

This has been one LONG and HARD winter! We have barrel fever!!! So much that we are starting to get silly around the edges...

Elias LOVES, I mean LOVES dinosaurs! He's quite obsessed actually. They are covering the topic in preschool this month much to his approval. He comes home singing many different dino songs set to the tunes of "We will Rock You" and such. He insists on wearing his dino helmet ALL THE TIME! He even takes his toy dinos out for walks. On the Cultural Trail we found this Apatosaurus loose!

I guess all he wanted was some hot chocolate from Calvin Fletcher's Coffee Shop.

Emmett on the other hand is starting to get his first tastes of people food. He's not really ingesting any significant amount of food yet (we will wait until 6 months to do that), but he is enjoying different tastes. Here is his first taste of avocado. Yum!

Oh Mr. Carrot, how I wuv to teethe on you...

Emmett is also turning out to be quite the bruiser. Don't worry, they are just that--bruises. But it goes to show he's getting more mobile. He loves to roll!

For St. Patty's Day we spent the day with old friends and Prof. Scott taught the boys how to play the organ. Elias was pretty excited about this new instrument.

We hope spring comes soon with her warmer days. We are tired of this winter!!!!
